1000 Books Before Kindergarten

This ongoing reading club promotes child and parent bonding through reading with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Children will receive a prize for every 100 books read.

Stop in the library to pick up your packet. For ages birth to five years.

 

 

 

 

Wonderbooks & Launchpads

The library has Wonderbooks and Launchpads!

Wonderbooks are books that read out loud. Each one is a book with a built in-audiobook. The library has titles ranging from sing-along picture books to chapter books, and every stage in between.

Launchpads are tablets preloaded with kid-friendly learning apps and covered in a kid-friendly case. The library has a selection of Launchpads for Pre-K and Reading.

 

 

 

 

Costume Kits

The library has costume kits for creative play. Each bag is available for a 2-week checkout and includes an outfit, story book, and toys/puzzles. Twenty-five bags to “spark” a child’s imagination include community heroes (firefighter, police officer, chef, etc.) and action heroes (Captain America, Harry Potter, etc.).

 

 

 

 

Baking Bags

Family Fun! Baking bags are available for you to to take home and make together. Each kit contains a recipe book and a baking pan, such as a shaped cake pan, pie plate or cupcake tin. Sesame Street Cupcakes, anyone? Each bag is unique and is available for a two week checkout.

The children’s library also offers the following materials to check out:

Princess Bag Kits (Disney stuffed princess paired with a book)

American Girl Outfits & Patterns

Early Learning Kits (including: Ready for Kindergarten, Ready for Preschool, Ready for 1st Grade. Each includes booklets, toys, and manipulatives)

Nature Bags (Denim backpacks that include a bug catcher, tree/bird/bug ID books, binoculars, and more)

Four shelves of donated games and puzzles that families can borrow and bring back when they are finished (no checkout necessary)
