Once your items are ready for pickup, we will notify you via email or phone.  Once you received that notification, you can come during our curbside hours to pick up your materials.

When is curbside pickup available?

Currently, you may pick up your items during our normal visiting hours, Monday-Thursday from 9:30 am to 8 pm, Friday from 9:30 am to 5 pm, and Saturday 9:30 am to 2 pm.

What items are available to reserve for curbside pickup?

Anything the library loans out can be held for curbside pickup.  This includes our the items in our Library of Things, our museums passes, and, of course, books, movies, and CDs.

What if I don’t know what I want to check out?

You can fill out one of our book or movie recommendation forms to get a selection of materials put together by our library staff, which you can then pickup via the curbside service.  You will be notified when your recommendations are ready for pickup.

What if I need to print something?

We are currently offering curbside pickup of paper prints.  For more information on how to submit documents for printing, please click here.

What happens when I come for pickup?
We ask that you wear a mask at all times.  Pull into the parking lot, call 717-484-4200 with your name, and an AAL staff member will bring out your books and materials right to your car.  We ask that you remain in your vehicle unless otherwise directed by staff.  If you are walking or biking, please wait outside and maintain distance from staff or other patrons.

If you prefer vestibule pickup, our staff members will bring your materials to the pickup table in the vestibule, and then return inside so you can collect your items.

How do I return my materials?

We’ll have our return boxes available 24/7 for returns and will also accept returns when you come for pickup.
