“Tails & Tales” Opening Day Drive-Thru Party @ Denver Park–Sat, June 5 from 9:30-10:30 AM. Lions, Tigers, & Magicians OH MY! Safely stay in your car while picking up your Summer Library Packet, snacks, gifts, crafts, raffle prizes and more. See the Fire Truck, Police Car, CYLO from the Barnstormers, Service Dogs, & so much more @ the Denver Memorial Park, 801 Main Street, Denver. The first 100 children receive a Boehringer’s Ice Cream Cone Coupon. For Families.
Sidewalk Safari – Any time, outside the library on the ramp. How well can you roar like a lion? Can you jump like a frog? Or arch your back like a cat? Stop in at the library this summer to play this fun sidewalk chalk activity. For all ages.
Themed Scavenger Hunt – Any time, in the woods behind the library. Need to get outdoors? Stop by and read the book on the rear library windows and then “search” for the hidden items in the grassy area behind the library. For all ages.
I SPY Tails & Tales Window – Any time, outside the library next to the picnic table. Bring your picnic lunch to the library and see what you can “spy” with your little eye! For all ages.
Nature Show @ Refreshing Mountain – Mondays, June 7 & 14 and July 12 &19 @ 10 AM. Come and hear all about Pennsylvania native and exotic creatures from around the world. These critters and their tails have many tales of their own, so be sure not to miss this mix of hands-on animal experience and adventure stories. Meet Miss Jess at the Nature Center at Refreshing Mountain, 455 Camp Rd, Stevens, PA 17578. Park in Parking Lot B – Follow yellow footprints to office, turn L, go down paved road towards pond. Teen SummerZine – Tuesday, June 8 & 22, July 6 & 20, Aug 3 & 17 from 4-5:30 pm via Zoom. Attention writers ages 12-19! Are you ready to take your writing to the next level? Would you like to see your work published alongside award-winning authors? You’ll get to know three PA authors who will offer creative prompts and a real-time look at their writing process via Zoom. There will be monthly opportunities to give and receive feedback from other teens and the guest authors, as well as time to polish your work for publication. Our finished SummerZine will include poetry, short stories, and essays by Lancaster County teens and our guest authors, and it will be catalogued at all libraries in the county. We’ll cap off the summer with an in-person Publication Gala and a copy of the magazine for each participant! Registration Required.

Adamstown Pool Storytime – Thursdays, June 10, July 8, & Aug 12 @ 1 PM. What better way to take a break from swimming than listening to a fun story? Join Miss Jess at the Pool Pavilion. Ran’D Shine-Magician— Tuesday, June 22 @ 10:30 am @ Adamstown Grove. TRICKS! is a fast, fun and amazing show where Magician Ran’D Shine performs tricks from his favorite magic books that he keeps in his box. During the show you will witness objects appear, vanish, and transform! This is highly interactive show that combine magic, music, and storytelling. (All ages) Registration Requested.
Animal Encounters – Wed. June 23 @ 10 AM @ Adamstown Grove (Ages 3-10 w/ Family). What does it feel like to have a shark’s “sixth sense”? How about having no opposable thumbs? Hands-on House Children’s Museum invites children and their families to find out as they investigate the mysterious world of animals. This workshop takes a child’s natural connection with animals and turns it into an interactive learning experience. Registration Required.
Phredd: Ukulele One Man Band– Monday, June 28 @ 1:30 pm @ Adamstown Grove. Enjoy ukulele strumming, harmonica wailing, suitcase drum kicking, quirky singer-songwriter of unmitigated joy performing original tunes about pirates, electric tricycles, monkeys and more-His songs inspire imagination, creativity and positive encouragement. Turtle Dance Music: The Music, Bubble and Comedy Show – Tuesday, July 6 @ 10:30 am @ Adamstown Grove. Flap your wings, jump up & down like five little monkeys and roar like a polar bear! Performance celebrates famous children’s stories/songs about animals including a few written by adults on the autism spectrum! The show will also celebrate biodiversity – the wilder our planet is the healthier it is! Kids will dance, sing, laugh, use their imaginations, and connect with new friends. The show is crafted to be inclusive for all children, including children on the Autism Spectrum. (All ages) Registration Requested.
Tails, Tracks and Turds – Wed July 7 @ 10 AM @ Adamstown Grove. What if you had a tail? What would it be used for? This program will help you answer these and many other questions about an animal’s tail. You will also learn about the signs that the animals leave behind. We will play games and write some track tales to help us learn even more. Presented by Lancaster County Dept. of Parks & Rec. For families. Registration Required.
NEW! “Let’s Learn Spanish” – July 18th @ 1pm on Zoom. Presented by the Cocalico High School Global Scholars (teacher: Erin Kregar, students: Kira Lapi and Carlina Christy). Learn Spanish colors and animals through pictures, games and songs! Here’s what we’ll do: Teach colors with pictures. Play a game: Find something in your house that is the color called. Learn animals: Play song and teach words. Name the animal in Spanish and ask the kids what sound the animal makes. Game: Blooket (digital with all the vocab). For Ages 5-12. Registration required.
Jeff Boyer’s Big Bubble Bonanza – Wed July 21 @ 10 AM @ Adamstown Grove. Gigantic Bubbles that blow their own bubbles? See the newest, funniest, zany spectacular from world-famous, Guinness Book of World Records-holding, master bubble wrangler, Jeff Boyer, as he takes bubbles to the max with big bubble flair. ZooAmerica Tales of Tails – Mon July 26th @ 1 pm @ Adamstown Grove. Featuring ambassador animals, you will get to explore several books and meet some of the animals starring in these stories. Read and learn about the amazing tales the animals’ tails must tell. All ages. Registration Requested.
End of Summer Glow in the Dark Bike Parade – Fri. August 13 @ 8 pm @ Cocalico H.S. Kids, celebrate all your hard work this Summer Reading. The Parade will be held at the Cocalico High School Walking Trail at 879 S. 4th Street, Denver. Bring your animal themed decorated bike/tricycle/scooter/ride-on toy and helmet to show off your skills. Prizes awarded. For Families. Registration Requested.
