LOCAL AUTHOR JEANNE MORAN PRESENTS: “What if? Trying to understand the past through research and fiction writing.” When an author pens a historical fiction novel, they begin with the question: What was it like to live in that time and place? To create the setting for her historical fiction novel Risking Exposure, Jeanne Moran wanted to understand the life of an average German teen in 1938. She read over 60 memoirs, articles, and non-fiction books, and watched dozens of documentaries and YouTube videos. To further her insight, she traveled to Munich, Germany to study original photographs and maps, and while at the Library of Congress in Washington, DC, she accessed newspapers once in circulation in Nazi Germany. Please join Jeanne Moran as she shares the joys and frustrations of researching this most compelling time and place. For teens and adults. Please register.
