Folklore and Coal Mining Songs of the Northeast

Join us for an informative musical and historical program with Jay Smar featuring original and documented songs of Northeast PA during the early 1900’s. Songs highlight the everyday struggles and life of the European coal miner in Northeastern Pennsylvania.

Vocals are accompanied by guitar, claw-hammer banjo, and fiddle.
Northeast PA coal books, chronicles, pay scales, photos and related coal mining articles will also be on display.
