FAQ

We understand life gets busy sometimes and things get left at home by accident.  As long as your fines are less than $6.00 you can continue to check out books and use the library computers.

While your library card does expire after 3 years, renewing is quick and easy.  Our circulation staff will double check that all your information is correct and updated, and renew your card at the time of your next visit.

All books can be checked out for two weeks, and DVDs for one week.  Both of these items can be renewed, as long as there are no existing holds on them.

Yes, there is an after-hours book drop located just in front of the library.    Items placed in the drop box after hours will always be counted as having been returned the previous day the library was open.  We also check the drop box throughout the day, but ask you to return items inside during regular business hours if it is due that day.

There are many ways you can help the library.  The library can only continue to offer our services through the generosity of the community members, businesses and municipalities for which it serves.

There are many ways you can help support the library, trough donations either at the library or through the annual Extraordinary Give each November, or through one of the many fundraising events like the Annual Book Sale, Bucks for Books Dinner and Auction, Which the Friends of the Adamstown Area Library organize.

The Friends of the Adamstown Area Library is a group of supporters and volunteers who help the library raise funds for materials and programs.   The group is always looking for energetic volunteers to help with event.  Please visit the Friends website for more information on their events and information on volunteering.

One other way you can help is to volunteer your time at the library.   We can always use help in many important behind the scenes roles like prepping materials for our many children’s programs, or helping to shelve books and materials.
